I agree. Kate was at her best during the 1998-2002 period. The way she was written, Lauren Koslow's acting, her looks, everything. I haven't really enjoyed Kate since 2006 or something and Lauren's wardrobe has been a mess since then too. I also agree about Stefano and Kate as a married couple. They just don't work for me. Not just because of the sloppy writing when they got together but something just isn't clicking when I see them. I know Joe loves playing a more human Stefano but it completely destroys the character. |

Austin doesn't really have much going on ATM though. I'm annoyed that she's not a bigger player in the Will story, in as much as it can be called a story. The real Kate would be driven to find out why WiJ were suddenly so tight. It's too bad Will didn't confide in her about the ejami sex, then the Kate/Sami business story could have been about the two of them secretly trying to sabotage each other (since Kate would be furious that Sami hurt Will). Does anyone remember how Kate reacted to the Mike/Carrie storyline? I don't remember her being involved at all, but I'm sure she had something to say about it. |

ITA and it not only destroys Stefano but I think Kate also. What should have happened was that somehow Kate does something to tick Stefano off and then covers it but he finds out in time and does something back to her. Remember when she was about to poison him when he suspected Will of shooting Ej? That would have been PERFECT...I just wish she would have actually tried to slowly poison him over time and then when she found out that Will didn't do it and Stefano knew that she would have stopped it, only to have STefano find out later in time that she had in deed tried to kill him, lol. Like others, I loathed poison brownie/apple Kate and love her creepy relationship with her sons, but I miss the badass. Her 'rivalry' with Madison was juvenile and embarrassing. I'd like to see her take control again. |

I just cannot like Kate. partly because of the way she looks. Those lips are humongous, the blue hair is pitiful, and her dress is ridiculous. The other part is the way she always tries to act like a YOUNG femme fatale. These Dool women of the elder generation should ALL realize they are no longer 24 years old and cut the mannerisms they used 20 years ago, ergo, Marlena's squeals and little-girl whoops. |

I like Kate and think Lauren Koslow's a great actress, but isn't it strange how she's morphed into someone so evil? Kate's always been bitchy, but it's weird to see her at odds with people she was once close to, like Marlena and John, and I'd like to forget she poisoned Chloe. The character just seemed more human when I watched in the early '00s, so that's why I like Kate in scenes with her children. |
